This is the post most people Google before they become an operator. Let's be direct about money, because vague earning promises are how sketchy apps waste your time.
The headline number
Snowpad's published India rate is ₹7 per GB served from your node. Rates for other localities are on the landing page earnings block — they're set by the network and updated transparently.
What that means in practice
Your earnings depend on traffic routed through your device, which depends on:
- Uptime. The pool routes around offline nodes. A node online 12 hours a day earns roughly half of what a 24/7 node earns.
- Connection quality. Stable ISP with low packet loss gets more sustained connections — sustained sessions move more GB.
- IP freshness. Residential and mobile IPs are in the highest demand. A Jio phone on 4G/5G is premium supply.
Realistic ranges for a single Indian node:
| Setup | Typical monthly |
|---|---|
| Phone on WiFi, nights only | ₹300 – ₹800 |
| Phone 24/7 on home WiFi | ₹1,000 – ₹2,500 |
| Home fibre (JioFiber / ACT) PC node | ₹2,000 – ₹6,000 |
| Multiple nodes + stable uptime | more, linearly |
Treat the top of any range as "excellent conditions," not a promise.
Costs to know about
- Electricity: a phone idling a tunnel draws very little — under ₹50/month in most Indian tariffs. A desktop PC node draws more; check your PSU.
- Data: SnowGain tunnels on WiFi by default and respects the caps you set. On unlimited home fibre, the marginal data cost is effectively zero.
- Battery health: keep the phone cool, ideally charging between 20–80%. Most operators report negligible battery impact over a year.
How you get paid
Earnings roll up monthly and settle to UPI. The full walkthrough — timing, minimums, what shows in the app — is in the payout guide.
Start this week
- Create an operator account (two minutes, email + password).
- Add your hardware — phone, home fibre, whatever you have.
- Create a node, get a token, start SnowGain.
That's it. No fees, no hardware to buy, no referral pyramid.
